Secateurs

Secateurs are a type of hand-held garden tool for use when pruning shrubs, tough plants or small trees. They consist of a pair of curved strong sharp blades which come together when the handles are closed. A spring at the base of the blades forces the tool to open again after use. Garden Secateurs generally have short handles and are operated one-handed. Two variants are available; anvil which has more of a powerful crushing action for use with dead wood and more hardy stems, and bypass which mirrors the way a pair of scissors works for a more clean and precise cut.
