The product is ideal as a primary coat as it acts like a fresh start for walls. Other colours can then be used on top to achieve the desired shade quickly and easily without problems such as previous wall colour showing through or difficulty building up solid coverage. The product is water based and usually has vinyl or acrylic added for durability. The mixture is called an emulsion because the pigment is contained in resin, which is then mixed well into water, dispersing the pigment within the water evenly and creating an emulsion.
